For the 4^th time since the beginning of their collaboration, the watchmaking brand in Nyon is supporting its ambassador and the association working to save these large mammals with an exclusive edition.

The rhinoceros, a herbivorous mammal with a large body covered in thick brownish skin and short, chubby legs, is a threatened species, some of which are on the brink of imminent extinction. It is a victim of human hands obsessed by the lure of profit. The reason for this poaching? The horn or horns of this peaceful animal, a solid mass of keratin perched on its snout, to which some people attribute various fanciful virtues. SORAI, the acronym for Save Our Rhinos Africa & India, is an association founded in 2018 by former cricketer and Hublot ambassador Kevin Pietersen to fight for the protection of this giant weighing around 4 tons. The Nyon manufacture is reiterating its support with the creation of a 4^th dedicated timepiece, the Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon 5-Day Power Reserve SORAI.

In keeping with the collection’s own codes, this exclusive edition, produced in just 30 pieces, features a curvy tonneau-shaped case (42mm), machined in taupe ceramic, including bezel and caseback. Polished and bead-blasted, this shade oscillates between grey and brown, inspired by the rhinoceros’s epidermis. It frames a transparent face that reveals the architectural graphics of the hand-wound HUB 6020 caliber. This 3hz movement provides a spectacular 115-hour power reserve (approx. 5 days), indicated at 8 o’clock, and drives a tourbillon at 6 o’clock, in addition to the off-center hours and minutes at 3 o’clock. The watch comes with two bracelets, one in grey textile, adjustable thanks to its black Velcro® strap and ceramic buckle, and the other in rubber decorated with a camouflage motif and finished off with a titanium folding clasp.

Who knows… maybe this sacred Polynesian power, this gentle ancestral ocean- and nature-sourced energy, is infused within this 25-piece limited edition.

ʻO Ka Mua, the first. This is what Hublot has called its series specifically-developed for its Honolulu Ala Moana store in Hawaiʻi, inaugurated in 2021. This Big Bang Unico flaunts adornments that are typical of Polynesia. Concentric patterns conjure up a myriad of powerful symbols that are found in the ancestral culture of the Pacific islands: sun, ocean waves, tortoise, shark teeth. This elaborate creation covers the openworked dial as well as the blue ceramic bezel. The same material, which is impossible to scrape or scratch unless you take a diamond to it, is used to craft the 42 mm-diameter, 14.5 mm-high microblasted black case, waterproof to depths of 100 meters.

Time data, driven by the HUB1280 caliber, reigns inside this ever-so elaborate scenescape. The hour and minute hands, along with the date, enjoy the energy (72 hours of power reserve) produced by this selfwinding movement, assembled using some 354 components. During this timeframe, the chronograph equipped with a flyback function can measure short-cycle time sequences. The Big Bang Unico ‘O Ka Mua is worn on a calfskin strap, whose hue matches the bezel, and is attached by a folding clasp. Each piece is showcased in a solid wood presentation box adorned with an arabesque-styled decoration. The removable inside, made from recycled materials, reflects the profound traditional respect for nature that’s rooted in the local culture.

Two references, exclusively for sale via the Nyon manufacture’s e-commerce site, champion the monochrome saga that delights collectors.

After its Big Bang Unico (2022) and Spirit of Big Bang (2023) limited series, Essential Grey (2023) models are back centerstage for a third season following the success of the previous ones. This time round, it’s Classic Fusion pieces that hit the limelight. Two case diameters are on offer for this 2024 vintage, one in 42 mm, the other in 45 mm. These grade 5 titanium containers are still set off with a polished and satin-brushed bezel, crafted in the same sturdy yet lightweight metal. What’s more, this duo embraces the time-data scenography inherent to the collection with a sunray-finished dial hovered over by the hour and minute hands, as well as the direct drive. The date aperture at 3 o’clock fits in perfectly with the hour chapter featuring markers. To magnify this monochrome composition even more, this duo is complemented by an integrated rubber strap with case-matching color and is adorned with a pattern that’s somewhat reminiscent of elegant Milanese mesh.

The smaller of the two references is driven by the HUB1110 caliber. This selfwinding movement delivers a power reserve of 42 hours to the watch. The HUB1112 caliber, which nestles inside the second variation, offers the same autonomy. Thanks to the sapphire-crystal caseback, wearers can discover the openworked oscillating weight decorated with the brand’s name. Just like for the previous creations, these Classic Fusion Essential Grey watches are only available online. For Hublot, exclusivity isn’t an option.

After his ephemeral Light & Time creation, imagined in 2023, and set up at a height of 2,583 meters in Zermatt to celebrate the launch of his partnership with Hublot, Daniel Arsham puts his design talent to work for the manufacture and unveils an incredible watch. The amazingly-streamlined shape of the Arsham Droplet case (7.32 x 5,26 x 2.22 cm) is like no other. Its microblasted M3 titanium body, its rubber protections, the omnipresence of domed sapphire crystal breathe life into a spectacular groundbreaking sculpture enclosing metal rings. These circles, poised side by side, conjure up air bubbles captured in an aqueous medium. To obtain perfect waterproofness to depths of 30 meters, 17 o-ring seals were shrewdly positioned on this exclusive incomparable piece.

On the dial, the hands and markers, embellished with Daniel Arsham’s favorite hues, white and verdigris, reign in a translucent scenography in which only the high-performing, manual-winding Meca-10 caliber, boasting a power reserve of 240 hours, unveils the inner workings of its architecture. The Arsham Droplet, delivered with two interchangeable titanium chains can be worn as a pocket watch or as a pendant. A titanium stand with mineral glass magnifying lens turns the piece into a table clock. With this limited series, Hublot reminds us that the art of fusion and art in general definitely know no bounds.

The Metallurgy and Materials laboratory at the watchmaker designs and makes sapphire that keeps pushing the boundaries for a synthetic material that’s almost as hard as diamond. Hublot has explored the possibilities of designing a case in unique shapes and has now turned its attention to different colourways. The impressive 45mm Big Bang MP-11 case that launched in 2018 has been given a new hue. Ice blue brings a touch of summer and creates a soft contrast to showcase the HU9011 calibre, displayed in all its glory. Maxime Plescia-Buchi, the director and founder of the Sang Bleu magazine, made his mark with an incredible tattoo technique. His creations showcase his talent and expertise in art and design. Elongated, chiselled and edgy features set the scene for complex designs where reliefs, curves and textures come together. For the release of the 15^th album by the famous British band, the watchmaker from Nyon unveils a limited edition of 100 watches featuring the main theme of the album.

Memento Mori is a Latin phrase that can be translated as “remember you must die”. It is also an object of piety representing a human skull intended to encourage mediation about death. It is also the title of the latest album with melancholic overtones by Depeche Mode, unveiled in 2023. Hublot and the band have worked together for around 10 years. They joined forces to raise funds to support various charitable organizations. As a continuation of this partnership, the brand presented a new limited series, the Spirit of Big Bang Depeche Mode. This model has a monochrome design with a 42 mm-diameter case machined from microblasted and polished black ceramic. The dial of the same color features an applied skull and crossbones and a metal hourglass through which small beads flow according to the movement of the wrist. The tonneau-shaped case is enhanced with a bezel with pyramid-shaped studs. This motif adorns the rubber bracelet fastened with a folding clasp, giving the watch a resolutely rock look.

To keep in time with the beat, the hour and minute hands are orchestrated by the HUB1710 caliber, which is assembled with 166 components. This selfwinding movement ensures a power reserve of 50 hours. Each copy comes in a special box containing an exclusive vinyl single of the song Wagging Tongue, produced using green energy from recycled PVC. Definitely a collector!

These editions, imagined like genuine Art Watches, combine the Nyon watchmaker’s know-how in mastering materials and Swiss artist Saiff Vasarhelyi’s talent.

“Street life, you can run away from time”. This extract from the chorus of the jazz-funk hit from the end of the 70s, sang by Randy Crawford on one of The Crusaders’ albums, rings out like a hymn in the ears of urban artists. Over the following decade, tags and miscellaneous styles of graffiti would take over public spaces for good. This art form now flourishes on our wrists with a quartet created by Hublot and produced in a 10-piece limited series. Forever true to its ability of dynamiting watch codes, the manufacture once again wows the world with its Big Bang Meca-10 Street Art. To achieve its goal, it uses a material rolled out for the first time in 2016 in a Classic Fusion, an alloy mixing concrete with epoxy resin and graphene. This time round, gray’s been cast aside and bright, fluorescent hues take pride of place. As such, the 44 mm-diameter case becomes an expressive channel for artist Saiff Vasarhelyi. In a nutshell, the graffiti virtuoso handcrafted a one-of-a-kind creation using a technique he masters so well, Airbrushing. And, for a perfectly-fitting finish, each piece is worn on a fabric strap adorned with a design identical to the one on its case.

The fact that there’s no dial means that the 223 components of the powerful HUB1201 caliber play a key role in the extraordinary look of the Big Bang Meca-10 Street Art. This hand-wound movement’s power reserve indicator (around 240 hours) also center stages a colorful tag. A pure masterpiece delivered in a wooden presentation box specially designed for the occasion.

During the LVMH Watch Week, which opens the annual round of watchmaking novelties, the Nyon-based Manufacture presented a mechanical masterpiece offering an innovative vision of time, far from traditional time-reading codes.

There’s so much to say about the MP-10 Tourbillon Weight Energy System Titanium presented by Hublot at LVMH Watch Week, the first watchmaking event of the year held in Miami last January, that an entire book should be devoted to it! Indeed, this surprising timepiece, produced in a limited edition of 50, is packed with innovations. With no hands to indicate the time, and no dial to hide the mechanics, the watch frees itself from traditional codes to feature a vertical display on rollers.

Like a light yet solid armor, the bead-blasted titanium case measures 54.1×41.5mm, 22.4mm high, and houses two crowns, one at 12 o’clock for winding, the other retractable on the back for setting. It is topped by a curved sapphire crystal that stretches into three arms to better envelop the whole, and incorporates a magnifying glass to facilitate information gathering. Inscribed in white on a black background, the time can be read transparently from top to bottom, accompanied by triangular red markers: hours, minutes, power reserve indicator (48 hours) resting on a two-tone green and red disk, and seconds placed on the suspended, inclined cage of the openwork tourbillon.

In terms of motorization, this new Hublot with its complex architecture lives to the rhythm of the HUB9013 caliber, a 3hz automatic movement assembled with 592 components and wound by two linear, vertical, bidirectional white gold masses guided by shock absorbers. Ergonomic despite its impressive dimensions, the MP-10 Tourbillon Weight Energy System Titanium attaches to the wrist with two strands of checkerboard-textured black rubber, attached directly to the case with H-screws, and linked by a titanium folding clasp.

With this limited 88-piece series, the Nyon-based manufacture center stages an impressive Loong, an oriental dragon, to welcome in the Chinese year 4722.

Chinese New Year kicks off on February 10th under the sign of the Wood Dragon. A spirit of power and good luck characterizes this period said to be highly-auspicious, up until January 28th, 2025. Will watchmaking enjoy this boon? Well, while we wait for the final verdict, a host of limited editions are rolled out to celebrate the event. Hublot‘s Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon stands out among them all with the incredible illustration of the legendary creature decorating its dial. This creation was entrusted to the artist Chen Fenwan, a graduate of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art. This timepiece takes on her chromatic pink-dominated world and draws its inspiration from the paper sculpting technique she masters. The finished design breathes life into spectacular multi-level scenography.

The HUB1710 caliber beats inside the 42 mm-diameter, satin-brushed and polished titanium case, waterproof to depths of 100 meters. This selfwinding movement, assembled using some 166 components, delivers autonomy of 50 hours to the hour and minute hands, when the watch isn’t being worn. The Loong‘s body winds its way over a surprising strap clasped by a folding buckle. To obtain a dragon-skin pattern, Hublot used hand-crafted rubber marquetry for the first time ever. As such, the scales are infused with the hues of the dial, thanks to the nano-vulcanization technique. Perfect for molting in up-to-the-minute style.
