With this model inspired by a hypercar developed hand-in-hand with Multimatic, the watchmaker rolls out a new series as part of its partnership with the legendary German brand.

TAG Heuer pursues its collaboration with the Stuttgart firm with a 963-piece limited edition, a tip of the hat to the hybrid V8 prototype geared for World endurance Championship races. Although the 963 boasts an electric engine, the Carrera Chronograph x Porsche 963 is however totally mechanical. Like a racer’s chassis, its openworked dial flaunts a tubular structure which displays short-cycle time measurement counters at 3 and 9 o’clock, along with the small seconds, integrating a date, at 6 o’clock. Its red hands stand out on the gray- and black-shaded composition. The hour and minute hands, as well as the markers, are ever-so easy to read under any conditions as they’re all topped with Super-LumiNova^®. And, to heighten the sporty look even more, a tachymetric scale runs round the forged carbon fixed bezel. What’s more, the model comes complete with a black rubber strap whose shape conjures up the air vents found on hypercars.

The 44 mm-diameter brushed and polished steel case protects the red column-wheel TH20-00 caliber. This device can be admired through the sapphire-crystal caseback, which also unveils the stylized oscillating weight in action. With this dynamic duo of titanium watches, the Le Locle-based watch brand takes the fundamentals of its success – precision, innovation and timekeeping – and propels them into the modern era.

When he joined the family business in 1958, Jack Heuer infused it with the enthusiasm of youth, the recklessness of a circuit-racing lover, and the determination to create modern products while keeping with the fundamental values that had been present since the beginning of the 20^th century: precision, innovation and impeccable timekeeping. After the Autavia watch in 1962 and the Carrera the following year, the Monaco was born in 1969. Inspired by the eponymous Grand Prix, in 2024 it inherits the pillars of TAG Heuer‘s reputation, which it infuses into two new Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph timepieces, produced in a dynamic red version and the brand’s signature blue.

This launch marks the birth of an automatic movement, the high-frequency (5hz) TH81-00 caliber, wound by an oscillating weight cut in the shape of the TAG Heuer coat-of-arms and, like the famous square case, made entirely of titanium. This powerful engine is equipped with a split-seconds chronograph, enabling two time measurements, and delivers a power reserve of 55 to 65 hours. The sapphire crystal dial features two DLC-blackened arches, two counters at 3 and 9 o’clock, and a small seconds at 6 o’clock. Two large, two-tone, luminescent baton-type central hands indicate the current hours and minutes, accompanied by a duo of second hands, one rhodium-plated to display chronograph seconds and the other vermilion-lacquered for the split-seconds function controlled by a pusher on the left flank of this Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph.

FOCUS ON ELEGANCE

After the steel version unveiled last year, the brand presented an elegant version with a case crafted from noble metal at Watches & Wonders Geneva.

Although the history of TAG Heuer is closely linked to motor racing, this watch has focused on the sea and the oceans since 1968. The Skipper celebrates the victory of the Intrepid in the prestigious America’s Cup. With the Carrera Skipper launched in 2023, it has given new life to this famous reference thanks to one of its most emblematic models transposed to the world of regattas. This year, the Carrera Skipper Gold follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, taking on its characteristics. This piece stands out, however, with its 39mm-diameter case in solid 18-carat 5N rose gold, magnified by polished and brushed finishes. This option highlights the watch’s refined character.

The intense blue dial features the 15-minute counter present on the 1968 model. This element, which is essential for making a good start in a regatta, is decorated in three colors: Lagoon Green, inspired by the yacht’s rigging, Intrepid Teal, the color of the bridge, and, to alert the crew of the last five minutes before a race starts, a Regatta Orange, a shade used in the maritime world to ensure excellent legibility in all sea conditions. The counter hand, the short-time measurement, the date and the display of the hours and minutes remain orchestrated by the automatic caliber Heuer 02 (80-hour power reserve). Since 1963, the Carrera has embodied a passion for car racing. This now iconic watch continues to evolve, featuring new aesthetic details or technical improvements. The Carrera Chronograph 2024 by TAG Heuer has the same personality as its predecessors and has been enhanced with sporty styling. The silver-colored brushed steel dial has black “azuré” sub-dials at 3 and 9 o’clock and a tone-on-tone small seconds at 6 o’clock. The hands for measuring short time stand out thanks to crimson red coloring. The contrasting composition is an aesthetic variation of reference 7753 SN (Silver Noir), adorned with the same color combination. This dynamic display is enhanced by a tachymetric scale and crowned with a sapphire crystal dome, known as a glassbox.

The 39 mm-diameter case, which is water-resistant to a depth of 100 meters, protects the Heuer 02 caliber. This bidirectional movement offers a generous power reserve of 80 hours. The back reveals the redesigned openworked oscillating weight in action. The body features round pushers with the same finishing details as the case. Polished and brushed surfaces also decorate the links of the perfectly integrated metal strap. From then to now, the Carrera Chronograph is in keeping with the times thanks to its clean lines, subtle details and increasingly high-performance mechanics.

“DATO“, AN ATYPICAL LOOK

A nickname that suits it like a glove, immediately brings out the specificity that makes it incomparable, even within its own family: after years of absence, this sports watch produced by the Locle watchmaker is finally back in the limelight.

A quick exploration into the past allows us to trace the appearance of the date display on Heuer‘s Carrera watch, long before the merger with TAG and subsequent takeover by LVMH, which celebrated its 60^th anniversary in 2023. Indeed, it was in 1966, three years after the creation of this sporty timepiece designed for racing drivers, that it adopted this useful everyday complication on its dial. Placed at 12 o’clock, the date migrated to 9 o’clock in 1968, inheriting the nickname “Dato” in the process. As the years go by, so did the changes in ergonomics, aesthetics and techniques: in 2021, the minute totalizer is reduced from 45 to 30; in 2023, the curved “glassbox” sapphire crystal, perfectly embedded in the reworked case, is added over a graduated convex flange; and in 2024, the new Carrera Chronograph, presented in January during the LVMH Watch Week, takes on a beautiful hue halfway between green and blue, intensified by a circular brushing.

Housed in a steel case measuring 39mm in diameter and 13.86mm thick, the TH20-07 caliber powers the various hour, calendar and chronograph functions. This powerful automatic movement, tuned to the standard 4hz frequency, delivers a substantial 80-hour power reserve when fully wound, thanks to its openworked oscillating weight, which takes up the silhouette of the Le Locle brand’s shield. The unique style of this Carrera is based on the union between the particular configuration of its dial, with the date at 9 o’clock echoing the azure counter at 3 o’clock, the greenish blue color of the latter, on which the rhodium-plated applied hour markers are set, and the piston-type pushers on the right-hand side of the case.

A new cycle begins on February 10, 2024, set under the favorable patronage of the Wood Dragon. On the agenda: power, happiness and two limited series rolled out by the watch brand.

To celebrate the dawning of the era of the Dragon (Loong in Chinese) as the lunar New Year comes around, TAG Heuer invites collectors to discover two exclusive Carrera Chronograph Year of the Dragon editions. Both are imagined around a 42 mm-diameter case, one in steel, the other in 18K 5N rose gold, respectively rolled out in 300 and 50 pieces.

The satin-brushed, silvered or golden dial, based on the version chosen, comprises a traditional composition with two bi-compax-positioned counters. This duo stands out, however, as it adorns a wine hue. This same red shade sets off the lacquered central hand as well as the alligator strap that completes the watches. In this scenography that places the emphasis on the color that symbolizes good fortune and happiness in the Middle Kingdom, another detail catches the eye. The name of the mythical animal written in calligraphic script at 6 o’clock. All these timepieces are delivered in a vermilion-hued presentation box imagined specifically for this creation. Time data on all models is driven by a selfwinding movement, equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch. In these series, it boasts an openworked oscillating weight decorated with an oriental dragon, unveiled through the sapphire-crystal caseback. This watch, issued in a limited series of just 12 pieces, and reiterating the key features of the original model, combines a 45 mm-diameter black PVD-coated titanium case with a spectacular openworked dial encircles by a bezel boasting a carbon tachymetric scale. On top, the markers and chronograph counters, dressed in deep blue, stand out from the anthracite-adorned features. The tourbillon in its carbon and titanium cage at 6 o’clock breathes life into the sculptural composition.

The regulating device houses the Heuer 02T caliber. This selfwinding movement excels as its chronometry is COSC-certified. What’s more, in this timepiece, the movement keeps all its secrets under wrap. In a nutshell, the traditional sapphire-crystal caseback is replaced by a closed alternative illustrating Dubai’s iconic skyline shot with a fisheye lens. Incredibly impressive.

Surprising with its blackened aluminum shell studded with diamonds with angular shapes, this special watch is the ambassador of a know-how that is gradually making its way into the watchmaking industry.

Innovation has been the driving force behind TAG Heuer‘s creativity from the origins of the company founded in 1860 to the 60^th anniversary of its legendary Carrera watch in 2023, and will continue to be, as it is deeply ingrained in its genes. It is precisely this iconic sixty-year-old that the Le Locle-based brand has chosen to take on the role of ambassador for a know-how that is still relatively unknown in the watchmaking industry: the use of synthetic stones. However, the highly exclusive Carrera Plasma Diamant d’Avant-Garde Chronographe Tourbillon 44mm, successfully introduced at Watches and Wonders, doesn’t just follow the usual codes based on a classic setting of brilliants, but imposes its own by displaying a constellation of laboratory gems on its blackened aluminum carapace.

Randomly distributed on the case, cut in baguette shapes, they present different, unprecedented geometrical figures, also inviting themselves onto the first links of the bracelet. The crown itself is crafted entirely from a single 2.5-carat diamond, taking up the typical fluted silhouette of the winder, while the piston pushers that control the chronograph function are in DLC-coated steel. The dial, meanwhile, is composed of a polycrystalline diamond – a kaleidoscope of crystals grown together to form a single crystal – and hosts rectangular indexes designed in synthetic stone. The minute (at 3 o’clock) and hour (at 9 o’clock) counters, positioned in a bicompax position and delimited by two black circles, display short time measurements. At 6 o’clock, an aperture reveals the rhythmic round of a tourbillon that, like the other indications, is driven by the COSC-certified Heuer 02T Nanograph caliber, which delivers 65 hours of power reserve once fully wound by its openworked oscillating weight.

Motor racing, a highly-popular sport in Japan, has its heroes. One of them stood out from the crowd in the 60s and 70s. The watch brand pays tribute to him.

On the white opaline dial of this Carrera, the red-lacquered chronograph hour counter reigns supreme. The crimson hue also adorns the direct-drive, the hour and minute hands partially topped with Super-LumiNova^®, the seconds scale set on the flange and the logos.

The Heuer 02 caliber nestles inside the 42 mm-diameter steel case. This selfwinding movement, equipped with a column wheel, measures short-cycle time accurately. As its 60^th anniversary year, rich in new products, draws to a close, the iconic watch from the La Chaux-de-Fonds-based brand closes the festivities with a yellow gold timepiece inspired by the famous reference 1158 CHN produced in the 1970s.

Conceived in 1963 by Jack Heuer, then at the helm of the eponymous watchmaking company, to accompany racing drivers, the Carrera watch has become as legendary as the champions who have worn it since its birth. Now in its sixties, it has marked this very special year with numerous editions and collaborations, ending with a Carrera Chronograph version that shines as brightly as a summer sun. It draws its inspirational roots from TAG Heuer‘s past, and is based on one old timepiece in particular: the famous reference 1158 CHN produced in the 1970s.

Like its heritage predecessor, this new model features 18-carat yellow gold for its 39mm-diameter, less-than-14mm-thick case, including screw-down crown and chronograph pushers. Water-resistant to a depth of 100m, the metal case houses the TH20-00 caliber, a 4hz automatic movement which, when fully wound via its openworked oscillating weight, delivers a formidable 80-hour power reserve. Protected by a sapphire crystal glassbox and covered with yellow gold plating enhanced by vertical brushing, the dial indicates hours and minutes in the center by two baton-shaped hands, and seconds by a counter at 6 o’clock that encompasses the date on a white background. To create contrast and facilitate rapid information gathering, all chronograph-related displays are clad in black: the azure minute totalizers (3 o’clock) and hour totalizers (12 o’clock), fed by the large lacquered second hand.
