TIMELESS AND ENDURING
Year after year, regardless of its finery, the chronograph inspired by the famous Italian classic car race upholds the spirit of this unique competition.
During the Watches & Wonders Geneva 2023 trade show, Chopard showcased its new creations. The manufacturer also made a significant announcement. From this year on, all steel products will be crafted using Lucent SteelTM, as for example the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph. As such, its 40.5mm diameter case will be machined from the alloy that is 50% harder than other steels, developed in collaboration with Voestalpine Böhler. This material, previously made up of 70% recycled steel, is now composed of 80%.
As for the dial, this sporty-looking version comes in a color known as Nero Corsa with a corked finish, achieved by means of galvanization. Ringed by a tachymeter scale, the upper part of the watch features a highly legible hour circle with Arabic numerals coated with a powerful white Super-LumiNova® grade X1 and blue subdials in the tricompax position. The hour and minute hands, as well as those used to track time, are powered by a self-winding caliber offering 54 hours of power reserve. Its “stop second” device ensures that the time information can be set with precision. Its certification by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute provides assurance of its accuracy. Thanks to the presence of a sapphire back, the oscillating weight can be viewed in action. The 2023 edition of the Mille Miglia is equipped with a rubber wristband featuring a pattern inspired by the Dunlop tires of the 1960s and finished with a pin buckle. On the road again!
