The Excalibur MCF Blanc watch is a continuation of Roger Dubuis’ exploration of the use of various material. In 2020, the brand introduced the Excalibur Twofold, whose case features the particularity of being made of a mineral composite fiber, the MCF. This material, 99.95% silica, is a first in watchmaking technology. It is particularly attractive for its ultra-white color and resistance to aggressive ultraviolet light. Its considerable light weight, 13% less than carbon, makes it equally appealing. Made of a very stable resin, it is much easier to machine. With such aesthetic and practical qualities, the probability of finding the MCF among the creations of the Geneva watchmaker is high. It is therefore only natural that it should form the 42mm diameter case of this new limited series of 88 timepieces, the Excalibur MCF White.

To emphasize its singular architectural design, the watch comes with a matching rubber wristband in a very pure color. In the dark, only the hour and minute hands as well as the scale on the bezel are illuminated by their SuperLuminova® coating. This immaculate case protects the skeletonized caliber RD820SQ with its star-shaped bridge. The gears and the micro rotor of this self-winding movement with 60 hours of power reserve are displayed in their entirety. As with all Roger Dubuis creations, the excellence of the manufacture and assembly of this Excalibur enjoys the Poinçon de Genève certification.

Hostile territory ideal for heroic adventures… By introducing the Excalibur Knights of the Round Table watch at the start of the year, Roger Dubuis unveils a new chapter in the saga inspired by the Arthurian cycle begun in 2012. While its pink gold case remains identical in diameter to the previous models at 45mm, the scenario in which the miniature valiant fighters are positioned as markers reveals a completely different story. The 12 figurines, finished with an extremely fine microsculpture, are forever captured in motion, weapons in hand and ready for any feat of bravery. They appear inside a dial made of Murano glass. The Venetian craftsmen magnified the appearance of this limited edition of 28 timepieces by creating a shiny black surface crackled under the pressure of a deep red magma. To fully appreciate this scene, a sapphire crystal is positioned between the case and the bezel.

The hands are still powered by the RD 821 caliber. This self-winding mechanism with 48-hours of power reserve stands out thanks to its new openworked oscillating weight. The latter, composed of two levels of inverted pyramids, forms an aesthetic geometrical structure that is revealed through the case back.

To reinforce this expressive appearance, a black calf leather wristband is equipped with a quick-release system that can be switched according to the wearer’s wishes and accompany one’s every quest.

This eight-piece limited edition, second opus in the Urban Art Tribe collection, stands out through the vibrantly-colored architectural composition of its skeletonized dial.

French graffiti artist Gully has ventured from the street to the studio yet has pursued his visual identity infused with the essence of the artistic movement known as Appropriation. This trend focuses on transforming objects and existing images. Calling on Gully’s savoir-faire ensures that Roger Dubuis is able to propose a timepiece boasting an offbeat, graphical scenography. In a nutshell, by embracing bright colors, the letters of the creative’s pseudonym give a fresh, new twist to the famous star that usually adorns the dials of the manufacture’s watches. And, to enhance the hand-finalized composition even more, the lacquered hues are set off with luminescent substance. In short, Super-Luminova® makes the Excalibur Gully Monotourbillon dazzle brilliantly once it’s been exposed to light. The shades obtained conjure up the paint that’s just been freshly aerosol-bombed on walls.

The 42 mm-diameter titanium case coated with gray-black DLC treatment incorporates the skeletonized RD512SQ caliber. This hand-wound movement, assembled using 194 components, delivers a considerable 72-hour power reserve. Its regulating device is ever-so one-of-a-kind with its two cages crafted in titanium and chrome-cobalt.

The Excalibur Gully Monotourbillon is worn on a black calfskin strap. The strap can be easily changed thanks to its QRS system. Forever in tune with the times and keeping the watch’s esthetic and engineering personality alive is the slant which the Geneva-based manufacture has taken to enchant women and men alike with this edition boasting revamped dimensions.

Thanks to its partnership initiated with the famous Italian tire brand back in 2017, Roger Dubuis whisks us off at top speed on a journey through its exuberant, sculptural mechanical realm. This year, the Geneva manufacture wishes to adorn the wrists of women and men alike by reducing the size of its Excalibur Spider Pirelli. Taking it from 45 to 39 mm. Much more than a dimensional change though, the watchmakers have actually accomplished a remarkable feat. The model’s dial-free and embraces one-of-a-kind architecture featuring a star-shaped bridge inside which the flying tourbillon twirls. And, this is exactly what this variation center stages along with its highly-sporty personality.

The RD501SQ hand-wound movement, assembled with some 179 components, proposes the same finish and reliability quality. Moreover, it delivers a power reserve of 60 hours.

In addition to this 28-piece limited red and black titanium series, certified by the Hallmark of Geneva (Poinçon de Genève), Roger Dubuis also issues its Excalibur Spider in the same diameter, in a combination of rose gold and white ceramic or absolute black titanium. Roger Dubuis’ new creations enjoy the latest luminescent innovations to light up their dial and to try to mesmerize you. Mission accomplished!

In filmmaker Wong Kar-wai’s world, like in Fallen Angels and In the Mood for Love, neon lights inspire a unique atmosphere which symbolizes feelings. The colors diffuses are also those of his adopted city, Hong Kong. Roger Dubuis went here to meet Wu Chi-kai, one of the last remaining craftsmen capable of making neon signs in any shape and size, to create the Excalibur Blacklight. Basically, thanks to a network of lab-grown sapphire microstructures weaved through the skeletonized caliber and filled with luminescent material, the manufacture sparks a visual emotion similar to the one transmitted by the streets of the metropolis at night. In the dark, the UV light unveils an engineered sculpture bubbling over with a myriad of vibrant hues.

The selfwinding RD820SQ movement (60 hours of power reserve) reigns supreme in this highly-colorful scenescape. Every single one of its 167 components was given special attention. It took 570 hours of work to make. 170 of these components were granted the Hallmark of Geneva (Poinçon de Genève)!

The Excalibur Blacklight is available in two 42 mm-diameter case versions. One is a limited edition of just 8 pieces combining white gold and round diamonds set across the bezel. Its strap, fashioned in FKM rubber, a fluorescent material, which is also luminescent as it embraces LumiSuperBiwiNova^® technology, and has already been used on the Excalibur Twofold model, enhances its dazzling personality even more. The other, issued in 28 pieces, is crafted in rose gold and set with 60 gems.

This creation boasts the layout colors of the extreme version of the Huraca?n, the Super Trofeo Omologata, and embraces new high-performing engineering architecture.

Roger Dubuis pursues its intimate partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse initiated in 2018. Following on from a RD103SQ caliber, equipped with double sprung balances inclined at a 45° angle from each other conjuring up the longitudinal cylinder placement of the Huraca?n engine, here comes the RD630 which breathes life into the Excalibur Huraca?n STO. Like its elder sibling, its assembly and its design are inspired by the engineering which boosts the Italian firm’s racers. This automatic movement, as such, features a balance-wheel escapement set at a 12° angle, a rotor resembling a wheel rim and a bridge which recalls the strut bars of the supercar’s V10 engine.

This state-of-the-art system, assembled using some 233 components, delivers a power reserve of 60 hours. It is set in a 45 mm-diameter case crafted in carbon highlighted with rubber inserts. The time data, hours, minutes, seconds and date at 6 o’clock, is encircled by a functional flange. Its lower part is equipped with a minute tracker whilst the bezel displays the hours coated with Super-LumiNova®. All the time information is incredibly easy to read. Its orange hue adds a dynamic touch to the gray monochrome atmosphere. The hands hover over a skeletonized dial featuring two honeycomb structures which echo the large air intakes present on the car’s fender.

The limited 88-piece Excalibur Huraca?n STO edition is worn on a perforated blue rubber and calfskin strap. In addition to the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tire pattern on the lining, it boasts a QRS (Quick Release System) allowing it to be interchanged easily and a triple folding clasp.

Gorgeous during the day, impressive at night. The Excalibur Twofold, stamped with the Hallmark of Geneva (Poinçon de Genève), definitely catches the eye! Through its creations, Roger Dubuis has become a master in imagining watches which combine technical feats and daring stylistics. And, this newcomer is no exception to the rule. For this model, the brand even ushered in technologies which had never been used before in fine watchmaking. As such, its 45 mm-diameter case and its bezel are crafted in mineral composite fiber, an ultra-white material comprising 99.95% silica. They are made using a compression molding process. This case protects the skeletonized double flying tourbillon caliber fashioned by Roger Dubuis. This timepiece, immaculate in full light, center stages a totally different aspect in the dark. High-tech coating illuminates its starry design, angles and flange. The novel technology used enables the watch to glow 60% longer in the dark than with a traditional luminescent material.

The RD01SQ, a hand-wound movement, assembled with some 301 components, delivers a power reserve of around 50 hours. The sapphire-crystal caseback invites to admire this state-of-the-art mechanism.

Last but not least, this 8-piece Excalibur Twofold limited edition is complemented by a surprising strap made of FKM rubber, a synthetic fluorescent material, which is also luminescent as it embraces LumiSuperBiwiNova technology. For secure, comfortable wearing, the strap is attached by a titanium double folding clasp.

The 2019 SIHH in Geneva lived up to expectations, particularly thanks to this watch, unique in more than one way. We take a closer look!

The idea of luxury changes over time. At Roger Dubuis, watches must be exclusive and meet the needs of the voracious hedonist, men with well replenished bank accounts and always seeking new, powerful sensations. To make them all happy or one of them at least, the brand has developed a unique model: the Excalibur One-Off. The source of inspiration? A Lamborghini SC18 Alston supercar that has been totally customised to suit its owner’s tastes. Since the brand’s partnership with the Italian carmaker began, the watches have combined a mechanism worthy of a V12 with a modern and even futuristic design. For this model, a new, 47mm-wide carbon case with titanium inserts has been made. The design elements recall a racing car. The calibre has been specially developed for the occasion.

Here, each technical element becomes a design feature. So the time information comes with a double display, both analogue and digital. You can keep track of passing time with the help of an extra-large minute hand and a jumping hour mechanism. The calibre RD106SQ also stands out through the inclusion of two perfectly symmetrical, 90° tourbillons.

Last but not least, a selector at 4 o’clock provides the crown, at 2 o’clock, with two distinct functions. When you move the monopusher to W mode, you can wind up the One-Off. In S position, you can set the watch. Like all Roger Dubuis watches, the excellence of the Excalibur One-Off is certified by the exacting Geneva Seal.

Boasting a unique mechanism and design, this limited series will delight anyone looking for more than just a simple watch. We made contact with the new watchmaking racer designed by Roger Dubuis.

At the 2018 SIHH trade show, Roger Dubuis announced the launch of a partnership with the Lamborghini sports car department. The partnership soon produced the Excalibur Aventador S, a watch with a surprising calibre, featuring double sprung balances linked with a differential at an angle of 90°. The movement’s architecture recalled the V12 made by the Italian carmakers. For SIHH 2019, the brand will be introducing the press to a new episode in the collaboration, the Excalibur Huracan Performante. Once again, innovation is the watchword with a brand-new self-winding movement, the RD630, which stands out with a 12° angle balance escapement. The inclusion of a double barrel provides a power reserve of 60 hours.

The technical components are housed in a 45-mm-wide titanium case. Many of them play a role in the watch’s design, too. The bridges are faceted like a strut bar in the V10 engine of a Lamborghini super car, while the rotor is shaped like a car rim. A honeycomb-style design recalls the radiator grill on a racing car.

The 88 pieces in this limited edition come with a strap combining alcantara and rubber. And for perfect grip, the inside pattern borrows from the P Zero Trofeo R tyre developed by Pirelli, another one of Roger Dubuis’ partners.
