This creation stands out through the presence of a delicate, metallic-pigment-enhanced, screen-printed cloud floating in a sky shimmering with rainbow-hued glints.

The sculptural 40 mm, and just 5 mm high, sandblasted titanium case coated with blue PVD becomes a backdrop for this enigmatic masterpiece. It hosts the ultra-slim selfwinding movement that meticulously drives the pair of hour and minute hands. The BVL 138 caliber boasts traditional hand-crafted adornments and finishes including Côtes de Genève patterns, circular-graining and chamfering. This device also dazzles through its performance as it features a comfortable power reserve of 60 hours. In 1954, the Stratocaster, designed by Leo Fender, hit the stage at the right time. The rock revolution had just begun. To celebrate this instrument’s 70th anniversary, the American luthier and Bulgari got together to imagine a 1,200-piece limited series of wristwear. In a nutshell, the Aluminium GMT x Fender watch boasts the renowned gradient-toned brown. The 24-hour scale, running around the edge, takes on a cream shade twinned with a chocolate color. This feature is hovered over by a dedicated hand dressed in Super-LumiNova^®. This luminescent material adorns the 6 and 12 numerals, along with the pair of hour and minute hands, and delivers excellent readability under any conditions of light. All the data’s driven by the B192 caliber. This selfwinding movement delivers 42 hours of power reserve.

Everything sits inside a 40 mm-diameter, aluminum-crafted case flaunting a titanium back engraved with the Fender logo. To celebrate its 140th anniversary, the Rome-based firm showcases limited editions center staging remarkable scenographies finalized using reproductions of original sketches.

In 2022, Bulgari unveiled amazing dials that adorned its Octo Finissimo pieces. What was so special about them? They all depicted first drafts infused with Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani’s inspirational drawing style. This year, the manufacture has chosen to display this technique once again on its Octo Finissimo Automatic Sketch model so we can admire the bottom part of its caliber without having to turn the watch over. One of the sketches reveals the micro-rotor, the escapement and the bridges, among other things. It also specifies the finishes that would be featured. This captivating scenography reigns in the iconic 40 mm-diameter, and just 6.4 mm-thick case. This reference is rolled out in 280 steel pieces and 70 18-karat 5N rose gold ones. The 2.3 mm-high BVL 138 caliber continues to set the pace. This selfwinding mechanism delivers a 60-hour power reserve to the watch.

The Octo Chronograph GMT Sketch, which keeps the monochromatic spirit alive, highlights every single detail of the key components of its dial and back of its movement. Here, the balance wheel, column wheel, GMT display, 30-minute counter and small seconds are outlined. This 140-piece limited series exhibits its complex automatic BVL 318 caliber via the sapphire-crystal back of its 43 mm-diameter satin-brushed and polished steel case. After Shanghai, then Seoul, Dubai, Milan and Tokyo were the final stop-offs for the amazing Serpenti Factory exhibition honoring the 75th anniversary of one of Bulgari’s signature icons. Historic jewelry and watch models were showcased in settings that astutely mixed media from today and from yesteryear. In Italy, Fabrizio “Bixio” Braghieri painted watercolors center staging reptiles. In the Japanese capital, “Serpenti Metamorphosis” breathed life into multimedia artwork generated by artificial intelligence and produced by algorithms created using 200 million images of nature. In the United Arab Emirates, Azza Al Qubaisi, jewelry designer and sculptor, diffused her art through locally-sourced materials, sustainable practices and traditional techniques. She drew her inspiration from nature, capturing the movement and the environment rather than the snake itself. This approach boosted the narrative even more.

Alongside these dreamlike interpretations, a wide array of Serpenti Tubogas variations, outstandingly-elegant jewelry pieces and other secret watches from the collection highlighted the Rome-based brand’s incredible heritage. Each piece contributes to enriching the fascinating history which began in 1940. Since 2005, Only Watch has been inviting watch brands to become involved in the research to help find a treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy through an auction of one-of-a-kind pieces. For the tenth edition of this charity event held in Monaco, Bulgari has swung into action with an exceptional watch, the Octo Finissimo Marble Tourbillon. In 2014, this timepiece, one of the manufacture’s iconic models, started its legendary eight “thinness” world record series. For this biennial date, the 40 mm-diameter and just 6 mm-thick black DLC titanium case is set off with a fine layer of between 0.4 and 0.5 mm of green marble, sourced in the Alps in the Aosta Valley.
