TRIGGERING NEW SENSATIONS
The Swiss brand pursues the development of its dive watches with a host of innovations which fine-tune and boost the sturdiness of 10 novel variations.
For its 2021 vintage, ZRC erases a few Grands Fonds 300 teething problems to deliver exemplary wearer-friendliness. As such, the case screw system has evolved to improve resistance to pressure whilst inviting the wearer to change the strap quickly using a single-action tool. Likewise, the crown at 6 o’clock has become larger to improve grip. The reinforced caseback now comprises two parts. This workmanship ensures the engraving continues to be aligned along its axis. The watch’s waterproofness is strengthened as all points of pressure on the seal have been eliminated. There is no risk whatsoever of water entering the case. The unidirectional rotating bezel has also been revamped. In its original version, its edge was aligned with the case-middle, but there was a chance it could accidentally rotate. This shortcoming has been corrected. The bezel insert has also evolved. It is now fashioned using ceramic and is optimally corrosion- and oxidation-resistant. This material offers a host of finish possibilities and can be dressed in a wide array of colors.
Sunray-brushed blue, intense black, immaculate white, beige and vintage brown, a solid minute tracker, made up only of numerals, or without a minute tracker, a “lollipop” direct-drive with a red tip, with or without date, etc. The ten variations of the Grands Fonds 300 unveiled are totally in tune with current-day technical and stylistic musts. All offer excellent readability.
The 41 mm-diameter steel case, waterproof to depths of 300 meters, hosts the Sellita SW200-1 caliber in its sophisticated version (a 38-hour power reserve).
