PASSPORT TO ELSEWHERE
Four references with revamped sizes enhance the up-to-the-minute designed, sporty-looking travel watch collection. The range continues to flaunt all its assets and becomes even more versatile.
In 2022, Longines unveiled its Spirit Zulu Time collection imagined around a piece equipped with a 42 mm-diameter steel case. This year, the winged-hourglass brand rolls out a somewhat shrewd, downsized 39 mm variation, waterproof to depths of 100 meters. And, with its dual time-zone display on its dial, it’s more than ready to take on the world. It also features the scenography of its older siblings. The collection’s iconic hour chapter comprising Super-Luminova®-adorned numerals is ticked over by hour and minute hands, a direct-drive, as well as a GMT hand tipped with an orange, blue or golden arrow, based on the version. This hand hovers over a bidirectional rotating bezel set off with a black, green or azure ceramic insert, decorated with a 24-hour scale.
Caliber L844.4, specially created and assembled in-house, continues to hold the reins. This selfwinding movement delivers a power reserve of 72 hours. And, thanks to its silicon balance spring, it’s totally insensitive to magnetic fields. What’s more, its accuracy never flinches. Its timekeeping meets COSC requirements (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) to a T. Each variation of the Spirit Zulu Time 39 mm comes complete with bracelet or strap (the choice is yours) attached by a folding buckle hosting a micro-adjustment system for a perfect fit. And, as they’re interchangeable, you can go for metal or leather to stay in tune with your style.
