FOREVER IN TUNE WITH ITS STYLE

The winged-hourglass brand, constantly pursuing its definition of watchmaking elegance, enhances one of its oldest collections with colored variations which are perfectly in step with the times.

Back in the mid 20th century, Flagship watches became a powerful feature of Longines‘ identity, helping establish the brand in a resolutely-classy world. All the references rolled out thereafter to expand the collection stand out through their amazing understated appearance. This result is achieved thanks to well-spaced, low-key staging where time data is wonderfully easy to read. A leather strap clasped by a pin buckle ensures stylish wearing comfort. The three new Flagship Heritage Moonphase pieces are infused with all these characteristics. What’s more, they all boast an integrated green-, beige-, or gray-hued sunburst dial that adds an extra dash of light.

The L899 caliber beats at the heart of a 38.5 mm-diameter steel-crafted case, set off with satin-brushed and polished surfaces. This high-performing device ensures the hour and minute hands, the direct-drive, along with the moon-phase displays and the date nestling in a single space at 6 o’clock, tick over accurately. This selfwinding movement equipped with a single-crystal silicon balance spring, insensitive to the negative effects of magnetic fields, delivers a power reserve of 72 hours to the timepiece. And, just like the previous watches in the range, the screw-down back of the case, suitable for all sizes of wrists, showcases the iconic enamel-adorned, 18-karat gold medallion depicting a flagship, which has featured since the very first piece was created in 1957. Much more than just a symbol, it epitomizes natural leadership.

A GOLDEN FLOCK

The collection unveiled in 2023 welcomes two new timepieces equipped with the flyback chronograph function developed by the watchmaker from Saint-Imier almost a century ago and enhanced with touches of gold.

Throughout history, man has imagined wings to navigate among birds and stars. Made of feathers, canvas or metal, he gradually refined his wings until the beginning of the 20th century, when his prolific creativity was transformed into reliable aircraft prototypes. The boom was sudden, and in 1925, to accompany the explorers of the skies, Longines developed a function associated with that of the chronograph, making it possible to measure a succession of short beats, stop a count and restart a new one with a single push: flyback, for which it filed a patent a decade later. In 2023, this mechanism was integrated into one of the Saint-Imier-based brand’s collections to become a range in its own right, Spirit Flyback, which this year welcomes two new timepieces.

Measuring 42mm in diameter and 17mm thick, the steel case common to these variants is punctuated with elements – rotating bezel, screw-down crown and control pushers – in gold, yellow to sublimate the green dial and rose to enhance the brown. The smoky hues of these faces highlight the azure finish of their counters, the small seconds at 9 o’clock and the minute totalizer powered by the central second hand. As the Spirit Flyback is a pilot’s watch, the oversized Arabic numerals are coated with Super-LumiNova®, as are the hour and minute hands. All these functions are provided by the L791.4 column-wheel caliber, a COSC-certified automatic movement that delivers 68 hours of autonomy when fully wound.

EVER-SO SUBTLE ELEGANCE

With this series rolled out in just 1,935 pieces, the winged-hourglass brand center stages an attractively-stylish variation of its pilot’s watch, an up-to-the-minute reissue of a historic model.

Last year, Longines delved joyfully into its archives to concoct an elegant Pilot Majetek. This was actually a modern-day interpretation of a piece from 1935. This time round, the brand invites us to discover an upgrade, boasting incredibly-appealing adornments. The Pilot Majetek Pioneer Edition stands out with its 43 mm-diameter case crafted in grade 5 titanium, waterproof to depths of 100 meters. The use of this material makes the case lighter as it weighs in at just 78.7 grams and, at the same time, enhances the stylish look of this limited series with its special gray hues that are visually perfectly in tune with the time information scenography.

A duo of hour and minute hands dressed in blue-glowing gray Super-LumiNova® hovers over the intense matte black grained dial. A small seconds set at 6 o’clock completes the composition encircled by a bidirectional rotating fluted bezel. This feature pairs up with an internal luminescent triangular marker, known as the Starting Time Indicator, which nestles under the sapphire crystal and can be very useful for creating a time reference point.

The data continues to be driven by the L893.6 caliber which beats at 25,200 vibrations an hour. This powerful selfwinding movement offers the watch autonomy of 72 hours. A sure pledge of accuracy and regularity, this motor’s timekeeping meets the requirements of the certification issued by the COSC. And, for a wonderfully-fitting finish, the Pilot Majetek Pioneer Edition is worn on a black technical fabric strap. In other words, when performance and style comes together in harmony.

EFFICIENCY IN ACTION

With these new references presented for the 70th anniversary of the emblematic collection, the winged-hourglass brand is a reminder of the importance of size.

Launched in 1954 with a 35 mm model, the Conquest range by Longines has always been anchored in its time, with relevant aesthetic and technical developments. They all display their time information elegantly. The variations unveiled this year retain this DNA. On a silver, green, blue, black or champagne-colored dial, slender hour and minute hands point to an hour chapter made up solely of markers. The Super-LumiNova® paint applied to some of these elements ensures excellent readability in all conditions.

This minimalist composition is completed with a discreet date window at 6 o’clock. All of these versions have a stylish and sporty personality enhanced by their metal strap perfectly integrated into the steel case, water-resistant to a depth of 100 meters, which is now available in a diameter of 38 mm with a thickness of 10.90 mm. These compact dimensions accentuate the versatility of the watch, which can be worn by both men and women. Inside this case sits the caliber L888.5. This self-winding movement with a silicon monocrystal balance spring is insensitive to the negative effects of magnetic fields. In addition to its accuracy, this mechanism, whose oscillating weight can be seen through the sapphire crystal back, also boasts a power reserve of at least 72 hours. Ideal for wearing a Conquest for every occasion. And that’s what matters!

GENTLE STURDINESS

As the collection celebrates its 70th birthday, the brand from Saint-Imier offers three steel models with pastel faces, equipped with a robust self-winding movement and a metal bracelet or rubber strap.

Born in 1954, Conquest is the first Longines watch collection to see its name – and what a name! – trademarked. Today, this rich range of elegant, high-performance products, whose new generation was presented in 2023, celebrates its 70th birthday. Faithful to its watchmaking roots and perfectly in tune with the current trend for versatility that gives a timepiece a true companion function, the Saint-Imier company is offering a version with smaller dimensions and dials dressed in soft hues, ready to take on all the adventures of everyday life.

Cheerful colors such as candy pink, soft green and sky blue adorn the faces of this trio, from the sunray-satin-finished central disk to the azure rim supporting 11 rhodium-plated, faceted hour-markers. Three of these, at 12, 3 and 9 o’clock, are highlighted with Super-LumiNova®, while a window at 6 o’clock displays the date in black on a white background. In the center, a duo of dauphine-style hands and a baton second hand indicate hours, minutes and seconds.

These functions are powered by the L888.5 caliber, an automatic movement with a magnetism-resistant silicon balance-spring that vibrates at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour and provides a substantial 3-day power reserve when fully wound. The 34mm-diameter steel case, water-resistant to a depth of 100m, is fitted with a choice of metal link bracelet with triple safety clasp, or two rubber strands matching the dial and finished with a folding clasp.

HERE AND ELSEWHERE

With its new size, this nomadic-tuned timepiece is more conspicuous on the wrist, whether it’s worn with its metal bracelet or optional rubber strap.

Since 2007, the HydroConquest collection has been adding references that are just as much at home on land as deep in the depths of the ocean. Last year, Longines rolled out a highly-elegant, sporty upgrade for travelers, the HydroConquest GMT created around a 41 mm-diameter case. And now, the winged-hourglass brand has just unveiled a variation boasting a 43 mm holder and screwed caseback. These two extra millimeters mean data display is even clearer. On the green, black or blue sunburst-finished dials, the hour and minute hands, along with the GMT one, recognizable with its triangular tip, and the lollipop-styled direct-drive hover over the hour chapter and the 24-hour scale which runs round the flange. And, to ensure information is ever-so easy to read in any situation, all the elements in this well-spaced scenography are topped with Super-LumiNova®.

These novel variations are still guaranteed waterproof to depths of 300 meters, and still feature a unidirectional rotating notched bezel with ceramic insert and screwed crown. All these characteristics ensure these watches are real divers. The L844.5 caliber, equipped with a silicon balance spring which makes it insensitive to magnetic fields, accurately drives all the data, including the date. This selfwinding movement provides these timepieces with a comfortable power reserve of 72 hours. Perfect autonomy for straddling time zones with total peace of mind without losing your bearings.

HOROLOGICAL FESTIVITIES

To celebrate the Year of the Wood Dragon, the winged-hourglass brand called on the talent of Chinese artist, Zinan Lam, to imagine an 888-piece limited edition.

For the first time ever, Longines unveils a watch honoring the new zodiacal and lunar era, which kicks off on February 10th, 2024. The dawning of the cycle of the Dragon, a symbol of good omen, comes to life through the Flagship Heritage Year of the Dragon series. This collector piece stands out with its domed dial, dressed in intense gradient-hued red that veers to black. In this flamboyant scenescape, the golden hour and minute hands hover over an hour chapter comprising eleven fine markers set off with the same solar hue. At 6 o’clock, the Moon phases are coupled with a hand-pointed date display. All these stylistic details endow this timepiece with an elegant personality enhanced with resolutely oriental-vintage adornments.

Zinan Lam, showcased as an emerging artist on the Chinese stage, takes on a contemporary approach here by creating a mix of traditional painting and Western graffiti. Yet, when it comes to the mythical creature’s head on this piece, he chose to be deliciously understated. This artwork decorates the screwed back of the 38.5 mm-diameter steel case. The Flagship Heritage Year of the Dragon model is driven by the L899.5 caliber. The presence of a single-crystal silicon balance spring makes this selfwinding movement insensitive to the negative effects of magnetic fields. What’s more, its optimized design means it boasts a comfortable power reserve of around 72 hours. When tradition keeps company with modernity.

VISA FOR ELEGANCE

What can you do to make sure you don’t lose your notion of time when you move from one continent to another? Well, the winged-hourglass brand is out to help you with two exclusive editions boasting great pared-down style.

Traveling the globe expands your mind, no matter the means of transport you choose. Since time immemorial, Longines has been on hand to accompany every journey with a reliable, elegant timepiece. The new 500-piece limited series enhancing The Longines Master Collection keep this desire alive. The GMT model, rolled out in yellow gold and rose gold, invites you to go first class. On the frosted-finished silvered dial, the traditional leaf-shaped hands hover over an hour chapter made up of Roman numerals. A fourth hand, dressed in black, completes its rotations in 24 hours. The scale running around the flange makes reading this easier. A date nestling at 6 o’clock completes this well-spaced composition.

All the time data is driven by the L844.5 caliber protected by the 40 mm-diameter, 10.40 mm-thick case. This selfwinding movement stands out through its ability to resist the negative effects of magnetic fields. And, thanks to the presence of a silicon balance spring, amongst other components, this mechanism boasts resistance that’s ten times greater than the ISO 764 benchmark standard. What’s more, it delivers 72 hours of autonomy to the watch when it’s not being worn. The sapphire-crystal caseback invites to delight in some of the components in action. To create perfect harmony, the Longines Master Collection GMT comes complete with anthracite-gray leather straps clasped by a pin buckle in a hue that matches the case.

NO-COMPROMISE

The upgrade of the winged-hourglass brand’s flagship diver enthralls with its new features and state-of-the-art qualities that gift it with an up-to-the-minute look.

In 1959, Longines unveiled a diver boasting outstanding assets. Its case middle stood out with its two crowns. One placed at 4 o’clock was used to set the time and wind the caliber, whilst the other at 2 o’clock let the wearer move the 60-minute graduated bidirectional internal bezel. The aim of this option was to offer underwater explorers a real high-performing tool. As upgrades were rolled out, the 42 mm-diameter case became increasingly waterproof, moving from a depth of 120 to 300 meters. What’s more, every version was absolutely in line with the trends of the times it had been imagined for. The novel Legend Diver 39 mm pursues this score. Given its slimmer size, the references showcased are more versatile, suit all wrists, yet never undermine the collection-specific technical and stylistic qualities.

In short, time data on the blue or black dial, topped with Super-LumiNova®, is still wonderfully-easy to read. The Legend Diver 39 mm is fully compliant with the ISO 6425 standard inherent to dive watches. Moreover, it hosts a high-performing, accurate L888.6 caliber. This selfwinding movement’s chronometry is certified by the COSC. It also delivers a comfortable power reserve of 72 hours. To ensure it goes amazingly well with every style and is perfectly at home on both land and under the oceans, these timepieces are worn on a metal bracelet or on a brown NATO-type leather strap.

AT THE TOP!

The Swiss skier is forever pushing back limits as seen through his 51 World Cup podium finishes. The winged-hourglass brand celebrates his victories with a series that reflects his style perfectly: high-precision, high-performance.

Worth isn’t measured in years. The saying fits Marco Odermatt like a glove. This 25-year-old champion already boasts an impressive track record with two Crystal Globes won in 2022 and 2023. The skier, who’s totally at home in downhill, Super-G and giant slalom, has also wiped a 23-year-old record clean off the boards by totaling the highest number of points ever in a single season. Longines pays tribute to its ambassador’s results via a limited edition cut out for feats. The Conquest Marco Odermatt watch is, as such, imagined around a 42 mm-diameter steel case, waterproof to depths of 100 meters. The sapphire-crystal caseback stands out with a stylized depiction of the famous trophy won and the wording “Marco Odermatt Edition, one of 2042”. This series is worn on a textile strap attached by a folding clasp. It comes complete with a NATO-type alternative.

On the sunburst blue dial, the small seconds and the chronograph counters reign supreme with their silver hue. This contrasted composition is encircled by a bezel featuring a ceramic insert adorned with a tachymetric scale, which sets off the model’s sporty personality even more. This reference, in keeping with the spirit of the 1954-launched collection, is driven by a high-performing caliber, L898.5. This selfwinding movement with silicon balance spring, insensitive to magnetic fields, delivers a power reserve of 59 hours. Just what you need to time your best downhill runs on your favorite slopes, anytime, anywhere!

SOUNDNESS AND PERFORMANCE

Following on from its first steel versions, the winged-hourglass brand center stages one of its inventions using highly up-to-the-minute titanium. This chronograph takes on a more modern twist.

In just a few months, the Spirit collection has made its mark in the watch scene through charming variations boasting high-performing calibers. One of these is definitely the chronograph equipped with a flyback function. As the end of the year comes around, Longines offers this model a new look with a 42 mm-diameter case crafted in grade 5 titanium. As such, the Spirit Flyback Titanium watch is luxuriously light (93.5 g) and super sturdy. What’s more, this material gifts the watch with extra style. Its gray-hued color with satin-brushed and polished finishes adds a dash of freshness. On top, we discover a bidirectional bezel with its black ceramic insert.

Dial-side, anthracite this time round, the scenography pursues the original time data layout. As such, the small seconds set at 9 o’clock is symmetrically positioned with the 30-minute counter at 3. The hour chapter numerals and the hands are still topped with beige Super-LumiNova®. Short-cycle time measurement and hour and minute displays are driven by the selfwinding L791.4 movement. This device stands out for its performance, with its power reserve of 68 hours, as well as for its accuracy. Its chronometry is certified by the COSC.

The Spirit Flyback Titanium comes complete with two totally different wraparounds, a titanium bracelet attached by a folding clasp and a NATO-type textile strap with a pin buckle. Whichever you choose, you can be sure your timepiece flaunts a chic & sporty look.

THE ULTIMATE JEWELRY-WATCH

Elegance is hidden in the details. The Saint-Imier watchmaker reminds us of this once again with these new references available in a wide array of highly-attractive variations.

The Longines-imagined DolceVita collection, launched back in 1997, takes inspiration from the winged-hourglass brand’s historic rectangular pieces from the Roaring Twenties. The case, boasting a naturally-elegant shape, is enhanced with features that bring out its resolutely-feminine personality even more. The Mini DolceVita watches are endowed with this power to dress wrists with flair. To this end, all the references are created around a compact-sized steel case (21.50 x 29.00 mm) which may come stone-set with 38 IF-VVS Top Wesselton diamonds (or not), paired with three versions of dials. The silver one, known as Cosmo, comprises circles hovered over by blued hands. The hour chapter along with the small seconds at 6 o’clock gift the piece with harmonious Art Deco-style-inspired scenography. The two others, called Roman, play on lines. Here, the numerals reign in a geometric setting. What’s more, variations propose subtly-delicate colored adornments ranging from ivory white, blossoming rose, soothing blue to mint green. All these watches are driven by an accurate quartz L178 caliber.

And, to complete the look of these Mini DolceVita models, each piece is worn on a matching strap or bracelet. The “Cosmo” versions may be complemented by a 198-link metal bracelet or a black leather strap. The “Roman” decked dials come with matching leather alternatives. All these timeless-styled references in the collection go wonderfully-well with an understated or daring trendy outfit.

DESTINATION MOON

The winged-hourglass brand is forever adding attractive references to its catalog. It’s the Heritage Classic’s turn this time round with a model that displays the moon’s phases.

Through its Flagship Heritage model, Longines reminds us that its mantra Elegance is an attitude is not just a mere advertising slogan. Basically, every detail of this timepiece has a role to play in its seductiveness. The design of its satin-brushed-finished steel case as such place the accent on versatility with a diameter of just 38.5 mm. Its dial, available in silver or in sunburst blue, conjures up the past, whilst its hour chapter comprising eleven markers, its dauphine-style hands and the presence of a Moon phase display underscore a kind of esthetically-beautiful timelessness. The pared-down scenography enhances the elegant personality of this piece even more. On the caseback, the engraving of an exquisite sailing vessel reminds us that the Flagship Heritage is definitely one of the brand’s jewels. And, to ensure perfect harmony, this new reference is complemented by a gray, brown or blue strap, depending on the variation chosen.

The L899 (ETA A31.L91), one of the most efficient contemporary calibers, which equips, among others, The Longines 1832 watch, nestles inside the case. This selfwinding movement, beating at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations an hour, boasts a silicon monocrystal balance spring which means it’s insensitive to the negative effects of magnetic fields. What’s more, this cutting-edge device amazes with its autonomy. It delivers a wonderful power reserve of three days to the watch. Elegance to be delighted in throughout the week, and over the weekend too.

EVERMORE VERSATILE

The watchmaker from Saint-Imier enhances its iconic collection of sports watches with a quartet of new up-to-the-minute designed references, all ready to travel the world.

The 2007-launched HydroConquest collection rapidly made its mark as a Longines‘ classic. The watches have got everything it takes to accompany you on land as well as out at sea, as their features are totally on a par with the best divers around. This year, the winged-hourglass brand showcases a shrewd upgrade, the HydroConquest GMT. Even though the 41 mm-diameter steel case still boasts waterproofness guaranteed down to depths of 300 meters, these references stand out with a new function able to manage a second time zone. This noteworthy difference is displayed via a special hand on the dial proposed in green, brown, black or blue with a sunray finish. This arrow-tipped hand completes its gyrations in 24 hours. A colorful, graduated scale placed on the flange enable the wearer to keep their bearings. And, to make sure time data reading is excellent, all the hands as well as the indexes are coated with Super-LumiNova®. Also worth a mention is the novel notched unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel that encircles the scenography.

The HydroConquest GMT models are driven by the L844.5 caliber. This selfwinding movement, with silicon balance spring, delivers a comfortable power reserve of 72 hours to the time data and the date. Each piece can be worn, as wished, on a steel bracelet, a NATO or rubber strap attached by a folding clasp. The HydroConquest GMT issues as such a visa to head off on adventures whenever you please, wherever.
